About the Cards
All the cards are printed from original watercolor, acrylics or mixed media paintings by Joan MacKenzie. The cards are printed with soy based inks on recycled paper. The designs are based on field studies and photos taken by Joan, Howard Hansen and Paul Hansen. Where photos of others have been used as models for the paintings, credit appears on the Master Design Page.
Large Cards are 5"
Please note that all designs are displayed at the same size on our web site. The card sizes are listed on the Master Design Pages (see below).
Large Cards are $2.00
All prices include specially matched envelopes.
Most designs are available as greeted or blank cards. Some of the designs, e.g., "Moose Greetings," are only available as blanks.
We have grouped the greeted versions of our cards into the Greeting Card Categories of Birthday, Belated Birthday, Occasions of Love, etc. However, most of our designs could be used for many different occasions. Take a look through All of the Greetig Card Designs to find the designs you like best and consider writing in your own greetings. Prints, mouse pads and bookmarks are available for some of the latest designs.
Master Design Pages Provide Details
A larger image, size(s), price(s) and greeting(s) for each design are shown on that design's Master Design Page. Also described are any other products that are available with that design. You reach a Master Design Page by clicking on a thumbnail design anywhere on the site. You will usually reach these pages by clicking a thumbnail in the Greeting Cards Section or in All of the Greeting Card Designs.
Each Master Design Page shows what appears on the back of the card. This includes a brief description of pikas and a few words about the particular pika, animal or wildflower that is depicted in the design.
There are a variety of card packs in our catalog (not including holiday packs). Packs range in size from 5 cards to 10 cards. Clear plastic boxes are used and an insert on bottom shows all the cards in the pack. The price of each pack is the sum of the individual card prices. In addition to these packs, you may build your own pack and request customization of the insert at little or no extra cost. To review the current card packs click here.
